General Purpose Rating (G.P. Rating)candidates perform tasks related to Seamanship, Cargo handling, Maintenance work on deck, Operation and maintenance of Machinery.
WATCH-KEEPING NAVIGATION
The unit integrates Watchkeeping theory and practical application and problem solving exercises involving the use of the Integrated Marine Simulator. Students will also develop skills and knowledge to carry out watchkeeping procedures, respond to potential collision and emergency situations, IALA Buoyage System, maintain and accurate record in the vessels log, and Bridge Resource Management. Students will also have the knowledge of basic manoeuvring and ship handling principles.

Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on Vessels of 500 GRT or more/Regulation II/1
Diploma from a maritime training centre recognized by IMMARBE attesting that theholder has received training in accordance with section A-II/1 and Table A-II/1 of theSTCW Code. Evidence of having compete seagoing service for not less than 12 months in a vessel of more than 500 GRTBasic First Aid Course Basic Fire Fighting Course Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
